Carpet Den, Inc. has been a successful flooring and window treatments business in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, since 1972 and at the same location on Hillside Trail since 1976. We do all types of flooring and Hunter Douglas shades and blinds for residential and commercial customers.

Our showroom is open by private appointment only. We offer flexible hours to make shopping easy and convenient. Let us know how we can help. We look forward to working with you on your project!

Meet the Owner

 
Gary Bloedel, owner of Carpet Den
 

Gary Bloedel

A native Minnesotan, Gary has continued to reside in the state for his entire life. He was a career soldier serving in the Minnesota Army National Guard for 37.5 years retiring in 2002 as a Chief Warrant Officer, W5. He was appointed as the first Command Chief Warrant Officer for the MN National Guard in 1999. He also worked full-time for the Guard: 12.5 years as a personnel warrant officer and 25 years as an internal auditor with the Department of Military Affairs.

Gary enjoys the large variety of outdoor activities our state provides during each of the four seasons. Spring and summer bring gardening, golfing, boating, fishing, and trips to the cabin he shares with his family. Fall and winter include more fishing, hunting trips, and as much hockey watching and playing as one person can handle. He loves spending time with family and friends and especially enjoys watching his grandchildren participate in their various sports and other activities.

Installation

Be confident that when you buy from Carpet Den, as hundreds of your neighbors before you have, you will get the best installation possible. Installers will be at your home when they are scheduled, they will install your flooring to the highest standard, clean up the mess, and say thank you.

Pricing

We have low overhead and we are more than competitive with other sources of floor coverings and window treatments. We have done minimal advertising to keep our costs down for you. Smart customers know that nothing is free and also realize that you usually get what you pay for.

Payments

We do not require a down payment – we trust you. We accept cash, check, or credit card (3% fee applies). We email you an invoice with the amount due based on the payment method you have selected. If you choose to pay via cash or check, we ask that you give your payment to the installers when work is completed. For credit cards, your invoice will provide instructions for submitting your payment.

 

A Little Bit About Our Process

Flooring Projects

Step 1: Contact me to arrange a visit to your home or business to assess your needs and measure the rooms and areas involved. There is NO CHARGE for our estimating process.

Step 2: We make arrangements for a visit to our showroom located adjacent to my home at 7540 Hillside Trail, Cottage Grove, MN 55016.

Step 3: We look at samples – over 80 patterns to choose from and narrow it down to some tentative choices. I fit your choices to the measurements to determine the bottom line for the options you have chosen.

Step 4: You are able to take samples home to confirm colors and review your options, and hopefully, make a decision to choose Carpet Den for your flooring project.

Step 5: Once the go-ahead decision is made, it usually takes about a week to order and receive the material. While waiting for the material, I consult with my installers to arrange for installation dates and times that work for you.

Step 6: When the installation is finished, payment is appreciated according to instructions in a separate invoice provided to you that reflects your choice of payment options - check or credit card.

 

Window Projects

Step 1: Carpet Den is a Hunter Douglas Certified Consultant. Check out the terrific Hunter Douglas website showcasing a vast array of products and fabrics.

Step 2: Contact me to arrange a visit to your home or business to assess your needs and measure the windows involved. There is NO CHARGE for our estimating process.

Step 3: Depending on the depth of your homework, we can either set up a visit to our showroom located adjacent to my home at 7540 Hillside Trail, Cottage Grove, MN 55016 or visit the Hunter Douglas dealer showroom in Roseville. The Roseville showroom has all Hunter Douglas window treatment products on display making the review of options easier.

Step 4: When you have made tentative selections, I will calculate those choices into final estimates for your consideration and hopefully, you make the decision to choose Carpet Den for your window project.

Step 5: If necessary, I will arrange to confirm the measurements of your windows (at no extra charge). This gives me a measure of comfort before ordering your blinds.

Step 6: Once the blinds are ordered, it usually takes 2-3 weeks for manufacture, during which time I consult with my installers to arrange for installation dates and times that work for you.

Step 7: When the installation is finished, we appreciate payment by cash or check (a 4% discount is deducted from the total) or by credit card through our invoicing process.
