Our Process

The steps listed below will help you to understand the process, or path, you will take with the Carpet Den for your particular project.

For Flooring Projects

Step 1: Contact me, Gary Bloedel, to arrange a visit to your home to assess your needs and measure the areas involved. There is NO CHARGE for our estimating process.

Step 2: We then make arrangements for a visit to our showroom located adjacent to my home at 7540 Hillside Trail, Cottage Grove, MN 55016.

Step 3: We look at samples – over 80 patterns to choose from and narrow it down (quickly) to some tentative choices. I then fit those choices to the measurements to determine the bottom line for the options you have chosen.

Step 4: You are able to take samples home to confirm colors and review your options, and hopefully, make a decision to choose Carpet Den.

Step 5: Once the go ahead decision is made, it usually takes about a week to order and receive the material. While waiting for the material, I consult with my installers to arrange for installation dates that work for you.

Step 6: When installation is finished, we appreciate payment by cash or check (a 4% discount is deducted from the total) or by credit card through our invoicing process.

 

For Window Treatment Projects

Step 1: If you are at the point of trying to find out what’s out there for window treatments, here is some homework for you. Carpet Den is a Hunter Douglas Premier Dealer. Hunter Douglas has a terrific website feature called The Art of Window Dressing. Hunter Douglas has a vast array of products and fabrics. Because those products are what I offer, it’s helpful if you spend some time on that site reviewing the options and gaining some ideas of what you might like.

Step 2: Contact me, Gary Bloedel, to arrange a visit to your home to assess your needs and measure the windows involved. There is NO CHARGE for our estimating process.

Step 3: Depending on the depth of your homework or whether or not you have narrowed your potential choices to one or two types of window treatments, we can either visit our showroom at 7540 Hillside Trail, Cottage Grove, MN 55016 or visit the Hunter Douglas dealer showroom in Roseville. The Roseville showroom has all Hunter Douglas window treatment products on display making review of options easier.

Step 4: When you have made tentative selections, I will calculate those choices into final estimates for your consideration and hopeful purchase.

Step 5: Once a final decision is made and you tell me to go ahead, if I feel it prudent, I will arrange for a confirming measurement by my installation series (no extra charge). This gives me a measure of comfort before ordering your blinds.

Step 6: Once the blinds are ordered, it usually takes 2-3 weeks for manufacture during which time I alert my installation service to be prepared for the install when it’s convenient for you.

Step 7: When installation is finished, we appreciate payment by cash or check (a 4% discount is deducted from the total) or by credit card through our invoicing process.
